Kidney & urinary stones

Flexible ureteroscopy and laser lithotripsy — no open surgery.

“Do I need surgery?”

Most small stones pass on their own with fluids and painkillers. Larger ones are fragmented with a flexible scope and laser through the urethra with no incision. The decision depends on size, position and symptoms.

The options

Observation, shock-wave lithotripsy, or flexible ureteroscopy with laser — the most precise and most used today. Large kidney stones are treated percutaneously.

Preventing recurrence

Stone analysis plus fluid and diet advice. Half of patients form another stone within five years if nothing changes.
